After two windows of literally nothing, it’s probably about time that Daniel Levy put his hand in his pocket and brought in a couple of players at Tottenham. The club have achieved incredible things this season, regardless of whether or not they go on to win the Champions League on Saturday, but strength in depth is a necessity, and it is high time that Mauricio Pochettino is given the backing he deserves. Fans will be happy to hear, therefore, that wheels are reportedly in motion for a big money signing already. According to Calcio Napoli, Spurs are in for Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez at a price of £24.7 million, and are understood to be on the verge of signing him as a replacement for Erik Lamela, who is named as a potential departure this summer. How much truth is in the report is hard to say, but certainly, Spurs could do a lot worse than Perez. The Spaniard has been in fine form for the Magpies this season, and he has come on leaps and bounds since the arrival of Miguel Almiron and Salomon Rondon. You get the impression that he would thrive in a team with even better attacking options, and there is no doubt that Spurs could offer just that. This could be a really decent move, if it comes off.
