OPINION
Sheffield United went into Sunday’s fixture with Stoke knowing that if they won and Norwich lost they would claim the Championship title. The game didn’t start well for the away side when they went one goal down after a great chest and volley from the edge of the box by Sam Vokes. Going into the second half losing, Chris Wilder decided to alter his tactics and made a double substitution, bringing on both John Lundstram and Kieran Dowell. This substitution played dividends for Wilder as Kieran Dowell popped up with the equaliser to potentially start a push towards the title. Dowell’s goal sent a number of Sheffield United fan’s into delirium on Twitter as they tweeted his song for all to see, one fan congratulated the Everton loanee by saying: “Beautiful finish!” Another fan said “get in Dowell! Let’s have this title!” The goal wasn’t enough to claim the title as Norwich went on to beat Aston Villa to claim first spot. Second spot will do for the Blades who will be in the Premier League next season.
