Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon has reiterated his dream of playing “regular Premier League football” in the future.

The comments are bound to excite Tottenham fans, after the club was credited with interest in the youngster by the Daily Mail last Friday.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror [Saturday, 13:11], the 18-year-old – who was a sensation in the Championship last season – added that he intends to honour the final year of his Cottagers deal.

“I have the European Under-21s with England and an opportunity to win a tournament with England. We’ve both won tournaments with England before and hopefully I can help out there,” he said.

“Personally, I am still a Fulham player until 2020 but, of course, my aim is to play at the highest level. I am not sure where the future will take me but I have always wanted to play regular Premier League football.”

It seems that while Sessegnon is keen to return to his best form in the Championship next season, there is no doubting his intention to play at the top throughout his career.

It’s a big dream for an 18-year-old to have, but it’s warranted based on what Sessegnon has already shown for Fulham in the past two seasons.

Overall, the winger has been involved in 32 goals across the last two seasons, which is an incredible number for such a young player – no wonder Tottenham want him.

If Spurs are serious about their interest in the youngster, it’s going to take a hefty fee to prise him away. But given that Spurs haven’t invested in a single player for two transfer windows, they probably have the means to do so this summer.

What’s more, while Fulham would be inclined to want to keep Sessegnon, a big-money offer would be very hard to turn down, especially for a player whose dream is to play regular Premier League football.
