Rangers are planning a move for St Johnstone goalkeeper Zander Clark, according to Football Insider

The report claims that the Scottish side could be losing Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick and want a new keeper.

Clark has had a standout season with St Johnstone and Rangers have been keeping a close eye on him.

They won’t have it their own way though, with three English Championship clubs said to be in for the 6ft 3in giant too.

OPINION

Clark has been at St Johnstone for over 10 years but he might be on the verge of a move that could define his career. He’s kept 13 clean sheets in 29 games this season and that’s put him on the radar of Rangers and some clubs down south. Allan McGregor will surely be the number one again next season after his standout season but he’s 37 and there’s a spot waiting in the Rangers goal for a new keeper. Rangers know Clark well and could get him for a decent price with his contract set to expire in 2020. St Johnstone will know he’ll be free to leave the following summer and may be keen to secure a fee for him while clubs are interested. It looks like being another busy summer for Rangers, with Steven Davis confirming that he will stay permanently after his loan deal runs out this summer. The next stage of Gerrard’s rebuilding will be fascinating and there will be way more expectations on him next season.
