OPINION
James Forrest has been in fine form this season for Celtic, and the winger has justifiably earned himself all sorts of plaudits for his outstanding contribution. His trickery and willingness to get at people has been improved by a keener eye for goal, and and he has generally looked like a real threat for the Hoops for the vast majority of this campaign. In the first half against Aberdeen on Saturday, however, he looked pretty dismal. Nothing he tried seemed to be coming off, and with every passing attempt at beating his man, he liked to be getting more and more frustrated. This was a team performance that has come to epitomise Neil Lennon’s tenure at the club. It was bereft of imagination, and largely very flat. For a side pushing for a league title, it wasn’t good enough, and the manager is doing little to convince his bosses that he deserves the job on a permanent basis. Getting back to Forrest, however, it is unusual to see a player of the 27-year-old’s pep and vigour put in such a mediocre showing. The only consolation for Celtic fans will be that it was clearly just a blip, and when all is said and done, everybody has bad days at the office.

Might be an unpopular opinion but James Forrest's lack of a left foot is a liability and makes him bang average at best.

We have started so badly. Typical from us in recent weeks. Is there any point in Forrest actually starting a game? #hiding
