Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has wowed at Ibrox since joining from Burnley in the summer and the midfielder is more than capable of helping Steven Gerrard win trophies.

The 30-year-old midfielder has made 44 appearances for the Gers across all competitions this season and has racked up an impressive 11 goals as well as seven assists.

Aside from just boosting Rangers’ firepower, Arfield has been a class above generally as his experienced has proven vital in tough games.

Yet given how good he has looked, there’s always the worry that so-called ‘bigger’ clubs will come calling for his services in order to poach him away.

However based on what Arfield said on Friday, Rangers fans should be expecting him to say at Ibrox as long as the club wants him.

The key Rangers player not only revealed that he was happy at Ibrox but claimed he was the happiest he had been at a football club in years.

“This is the happiest I’ve been in years to be at this football club,” said Arfield, as quoted by the Gers’ official Twitter account.

Arfield uttering “happiest I’ve been in years” surely has many Rangers fans jumping for joy as those five-words show that he truly appreciates being at the club and isn’t about to throw that away.

The 30-year-old is at the stage of his career where his biggest concern should be enjoying football and regularly playing and based on his remarks the Gers tick both of those boxes.

The likes of Crystal Palace and Southampton may be interested in Arfield, as reported by the Scottish Sun, but clearly they’d face a near-impossible task trying to pry him away from Ibrox.
