Celtic midfielder Scott Sinclair sent Karamoko Dembele a message on Instagram to congratulate him on featuring in the Hoops’ 2-1 win over Hearts on Sunday.

The 16-year-old made his senior debut for the Hoops during the victory over Hearts by coming on as a half-time substitute to replace Oliver Burke.

After the game Dembele took to his Instagram account to praise Sinclair after the midfielder shared it was a special day for him due to having his daughter at the match.

“Top,” wrote the teenager.

This message prompted Sinclair to reply with a five-word message praising the teenager for his cameo appearance against Hearts.

“Well done for today bro,” wrote the 30-year-old via his Instagram account.

OPINION

Dembele stole the show and the headlines against Hearts on Sunday so deserves all the praise that comes his way. The 16-year-old looked a very promising prospect against Hearts and didn’t seemed fazed by the occasion. While Dembele is still in the early stages of his career, he showed enough to suggest that he has an extremely bright future at Celtic. Also it says so much that even thought the spotlight was on him on Sunday, he took the time to send a positive message to Sinclair. Based on the midfielder’s social media activity since the win over Hearts, it’s fair to say having his family in attendance made Sunday’s game take a special place in his heart. The 30-year-old has been at the Hoops since 2016 and while there was a period where his form notably dip, aside from that, he has always been a standout player for the Scottish giants. Hopefully Dembele will be able to follow in Sinclar’s footsteps based on that.
