Former Rangers attacker Jason Cummings sent Ross McCrorie a supportive message on Instagram after the Gers beat Celtic 2-0 on Sunday.

McCrorie originally took to his personal Instagram to celebrate the Gers’ victory over the Hoops by sharing a picture with his mum on the pitch at Ibrox, with a caption thanking her for supporting him.

“Top day!” wrote the Gers midfield enforcer.

“Wouldn’t of got to where I am now if it wasn’t for my wee mum.”

McCrorie celebrating the Gers’ win over Celtic saw Cummings send him a three-word message to refer to the chant Rangers fans sung about the midfielder.

“What’s the story?” wrote Cummings on his Instagram account.

OPINION

It’s nice to see Cummings take the time to send McCrorie a positive message especially after the midfield enforcer seemed quite emotional about the win over Celtic. While Cummings’ spell at Ibrox didn’t go to plan, he managed only six goals in 18 outings, he did always give his best while wearing the jersey, which in truth is all a fan can ask for. The 23-year-old is still young and who knows maybe one day he will get another chance to play for the Gers as crazier things have happened. However as for now Cummings is probably just preparing for an intense summer as he is heading back to Nottingham Forest after a loan spell away at Luton Town this season. As for McCrorie, he came off the bench against Celtic and did an admirable job in his cameo outing. The 21-year-old has featured 31 times for Steven Gerrard’s side this season and looks like having a bright future at Ibrox.
