Ian Wright seemed to be in agreement that Newcastle United defender Fabian Schar was wrongly omitted from EA Sport’s Fifa 19 Premier League Team of the Season.

The video game developer revealed their Premier League Team of the Season on Friday that would feature in Fifa 19’s Ultimate Team mode and Wright was left wondering who had been overlooked.

Wright shared that he thought Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser had been missed out before asking his fans on Instagram for their suggestions.

@easportsfifa Premier League Team of the Season, Think we missing Ryan Fraser in this squad…who else? #TOTS#FUT #PL,” wrote Wright on his verified Instagram account.

Jack Hegarty suggested Schar should have made the cut and Wright responded to agree and point out it was a good shout.

“Yes. Good shout,” wrote Wright.

OPINION

While EA Sport’s Premier League TOTS isn’t the biggest honour for a player or anything like that, it seems many still appreciate the recognition. This is particularly the case with the footballers who play Fifa 19 as they seem to love an improved-version of themselves being released in Ultimate Team mode if they make the cut. However while Schar might not be one of those players who enjoys Fifa 19, he no doubt would have appreciated featuring in the game’s Premier League Team of the Season if he had been chosen. The 27-year-old centre-back was in fantastic form in his 2018/19 season across his 28 outings as he oozed class in his displays. Schar was not only dependable at the back when called in action but when he glided forward he seemed extremely comfortable on the ball. The centre-back’s ability on the ball was reflected in the fact he got four goals as well as one assist in the recently ended Premier League season.
