West Ham are plotting a move for Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph, according to Football Insider.

The reliable football outlet claim that the Hammers have set their sights on the 29-year-old England international with him not getting regular game time at Man City in his 2018/19 campaign.

Football Insider report that Manuel Pellegrini is a big admirer of Delph and is keen to bring him to the London Stadium as he is Premier League proven, versatile and offers class.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes.

The 29-year-old may have only managed 11 appearances in the league for Man City in the recently-ended season, but he’d easily slot in to the Hammers first-team.

Delph’s ability to play in central midfield and at left-back, two areas of the Hammers’ current team that could do with more competition, he seems the ideal player to sign.

Also given that The Sun previously reported that Man City rate Delph as being worth £15million as that’s the amount they’re set to demand; it’s not a price tag that puts him out of reach.

In fact considering the 29-year-old has played 169 times in England’s top-flight; that valuation won’t cause a shock to the Hammers’ system.

Likely to happen?

There’s a very good chance.

The Sun’s report claimed Delph was looking to change clubs as he is seeking a new challenge, while Football Insider’s report stated Man City would allow his exit if his valuation is met.

So with those two things considered, it does sound like the midfielder is exit-bound.

The Hammers will likely have to fight off numerous teams to get Delph, but they’re more capable of doing that as the London club are more than capable of tabling a lucrative proposal.
