West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski sent Adrian a message after it was confirmed that his Hammers teammate was set to leave in the summer.

The Hammers’ official website confirmed on Wednesday that Adrian, Toni Martinez, Andy Carroll and Samir Nasri were sent to depart the London Stadium once their contracts expired in June.

After the news broke the current Hammers No.1, Fabianski, wasted no time sending his fellow keeper a message in order to thank him for everything.

“Thx for everything Amigo. It was pleasure to work with you. All the best in the future @adr13nsanmiguel,” wrote Fabianski on Instagram.

OPINION

Fabianski oozed classed with his short and simple message and it was nice to see him appreciate how Adrian had helped him. The Polish keeper rocked up from Swansea City last summer and instantly leapt above Adrian in the pecking order, and hasn’t looked back since. Fabianski put in fantastic display after fantastic display in his 38 outings and as a result didn’t give Adrian any chance of regularly featuring. While the Spanish keeper did manage five appearances in his 2018/19 campaign, all his outings were in cup competitions, it was never going to be enough to keep him happy and sign a new deal. When it was made clear during the season that Adrian’s deal was set to expire in June, it was almost certain that he would leave in search of regular football. However it shouldn’t be forgotten how Adrian for a notable period was the Hammers No.1 and hopefully for his sake, he quickly finds another club.
