Tottenham fans will be looking for their side to finally break their transfer duck after a year and a half without any spending and this summer is surely the time they will see new arrivals once again.

The Lilywhites are reported to have been tracking Hakim Ziyech ahead of a potential summer move to the Premier League from Ajax and considering his record, he could get supporters off their seats.

According to the Mail, Spurs are readying to offer the Dutch side £40million for the Moroccan star who has set Europe alight this season – meaning that Daniel Levy will have to get his chequebook out.

However, this would be a decent price in the current market with Ziyech having been a star in his side’s charge to the Champions League semi-finals and would fit into the Spurs side perfectly.

Tottenham have struggled for attacking options this season, especially with the injuries of Harry Kane and Dele Alli. Alongside this, there have been constant rumours that Christian Eriksen could be on his way.

Ziyech would be a great addition to this Spurs side, whether that is to start alongside Eriksen or replace him and Spurs have a reported 18 months of scouting to back up their interest.

The 26-year-old has been in scintillating form for Ajax this season, scoring 20 and also assisting 21 in 45 games across all competitions, including in their challenge for the Eredivisie title.

Ziyech has also been influential in the Champions League and he would be a marquee signing for Spurs. His pace and flair on the ball is matched with the ability to score goals and he would fit perfectly alongside side Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Starting on the right for his side, Ziyech’s strong left foot means he is able to cut inside or drive down the line when squaring up his opposition defender.

At the potential price of £40million, Levy must splash the cash and get the man with 41 goals and assists in the Spurs squad.
