OPINION
Wilfried Zaha has told Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish that he wants to leave this summer and experience Champions League football and it’s got plenty of Tottenham fans licking their lips – and rolling their eyes.
The former Man United player has certainly narrowed his options down and if he was to stay in England then there’s only really Tottenham that would be an realistic option.
With Chelsea suffering from a transfer ban, and Liverpool and Man City not short of attacking options, you feel that Tottenham are the club he was hinting at.
The one issue is the price. The report in the Mail puts his value at around £80million and that’s the sort of fee that would have Daniel Levy choking on his cornflakes.
Plenty of Tottenham fans think the same thing too and while they would love to see him lighting up the new stadium next season, they don’t think Levy would – or even should – pay that much for him.
Here are the best reactions from Tottenham fans to the news:
Dont think it will happen ?it would be a great signing but palace will want too much

No way we fork out as much as Palace wants. He was an idiot to sign a contract with them (if his true intentions were to leave) because Parish won't budge on the 100 million valuation of him. He probably won't go anywhere and if he does, Zaha looks like the bad guy.

Just can't see us getting in a bidding war for this guy.. Not Levy or Poch's style.

Love to sign him…. But very much doubt that we will meet any askin price…. Or outbid any other club to be honest..

Fantastic player, people talking about benchwarmer and 30/40mil are having a laugh. This guy is hard working, full of skills with crazy pace and strength..can play on the wings or upfront.. I'd give them what they want for him.. get him in ASAP!!

Around 50/60m is a more realistic price for Wilf but I’m sure Tottenham wouldn’t want to spend over 45/50 for him. For someone desperate to leave Palace it was odd signing such a long term new contract

I would have him at Spurs
