This has been a season to forget for Erik Lamela. He’s only made eight starts in the Premier League thanks to injury and fans weren’t impressed with him against Everton today, despite him setting up the first goal for Eric Dier.
A fair few fans on Twitter called for him to be sold on in the summer with one saying that his display today proved that he “doesn’t belong”.
It’s going to be a busy summer for Tottenham. There are already rumblings of Daniel Levy looking to sign players and we’re expecting a few to be moved on too. Lamela could well be one of those and with a contract through until 2022 he would still command a big fee.
Spurs paid £27million for him in 2013 and would want at least that for him and probably a fair bit more on top. He’s a talented player on his day but we think Pochettino could do better with the cash.
That’s what some Tottenham fans think after today’s game they ended up drawing 2-2.
Spurs started off brightly but the game quickly descended into an end-of-season affair, with Lamela coming in for the brunt of the stick from Tottenham fans.
