COMMENTARY
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino made some weird remarks ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Ajax, yet there weren’t enough to worry the Spurs fans below. Pochettino seemed to suggest that if he won the Champions League with Spurs he may exit the club. The Spurs manager said that winning the tournament would “close the five-year chapter and go home”, as quoted by the Telegraph, which seemed to be his way of suggesting that he would leave his post as Spurs manager. What made matters worse is that when pushed further on these comments, Pochettino didn’t deny that’s what he meant. The Tottenham boss shared that winning the Champions League may lead to him having to think about doing something “different” before insisting he wasn’t joking with his remarks. While Pochettino tried to insist he wasn’t joking, the Spurs fans below were confident he was winding everyone up and that his future wasn’t in doubt. However only time will tell if Pochettino was serious.
