Tottenham are chasing the capture of Birmingham City’s in demand teenage striker Adan George after seeing the youngster included among the Blues’ under-23 squad, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Sun reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the 26-year-old is much wanted ahead of the summer’s transfer window after making waves at youth level, finding himself playing at a level some way above his age.

It is stated that Tottenham are keen on the young hotshot but that they could face competition from elsewhere with big interest building.

Good move for Tottenham?

This is definitely not going to be a signing that Spurs fans will pay all that much attention to if it does come off but he could be a long term backup option for Harry Kane if he can meet expectations during his development.

Mauricio Pochettino has already shown his faith in youth talents during his time in north London and with a lack of strikers at the club already, his arrival would do the Lilywhites no harm whatsoever.

With the likes of Troy Parrott also impressing at youth level, the duo could well be fighting it out alongside one another to be the net breakthrough starlet come next season.

Of course at 16-years-old it is difficult to judge just how high he can go and so it would still be something of a risk for Spurs

Likely to happen?

Tottenham are the only named club in Nixon’s report and that might well mean that their interest is further along the line than any of the other clubs chasing his capture.

With a good record of youth development, Spurs is a club which will be tempting for many up and coming players and George might well feel the same heading into the summer transfer window.

One to watch, both in terms of a potential deal and in terms of the players ability.
