Tottenham have been offered the chance to re-sign Gareth Bale in a stunning season-long loan deal, and Daniel Levy must prove he will spend to deliver success to Spurs.

The Sun have reported that Real Madrid are desperate to get him off their books and that the Tottenham transfer committee are considering a loan move. They reportedly won’t sanction a permanent move.

Wages were always said to be an issue for Tottenham, with Bale on £600,000-a-week at the Spanish giants.

However, they’re willing to take less than half of that as long as Tottenham pay a £10m loan fee for the season.

Spurs would have to pay £250,000-a-week towards his wages in a cut-price deal and that would make a total of £23million to bring Bale back to north London.

Is he worth it? It would be real statement of intent from Daniel Levy and at just 29-years-old, Bale has years left in the tank.

He’s a world-beater, a truly world-class player, and he could inspire Tottenham to real success under Mauricio Pochettino. The 75-cap international is still performing for Wales and although things have gone sour for him in Spain, he would be brilliant in the Premier League.

Bringing Bale back always seemed like a pipe dream but this report actually maps out a realistic way for Spurs to complete the deal of the summer.

Levy must ensure he gets it done.
