Last night was a night that Tottenham fans will never forget. It’s why, as fans, we watch the game, and the emotion was there for everyone to see, with Mauricio Pochettino unable to speak after the game for crying.

Following the incredible comeback, that sees Tottenham in the Champions League final, Graham Roberts sent a Twitter message that summed up just how important the game was.

The former Tottenham player said, “Wow, I won the UEFA cup as captain, tonight nearly beat that for me. I am so proud of these heroes.”

You might claim recency bias here, but there’s something about Tottenham under Pochettino that made last night so much more special.

Roberts is a huge Tottenham fan and his tweet shows just what it means to get to the final of the biggest competition in Europe. Spurs fans have long had to contend with the tag of being a great team that can’t win anything. Imagine if the quest for the first piece of silverware under Pochettino – and the first trophy full stop in over ten years – ends with the Champions League?

Tottenham couldn’t ask for a better opponent either. Liverpool are an incredible team but Tottenham know them well and they can definitely beat them over 90 minutes. It’s a 90-minute shootout with a Premier League side.

Liverpool will be the favourites but Tottenham will know that over 90 minutes they can beat Jurgen Klopp’s team, just like they did Man City in the quarter-finals.
