Harry Redknapp has heaped praise on Tottenham ace Son Heung-min, claiming he is an “amazing boy”.

The South Korean has enjoyed a fantastic season for Spurs, and starred again in midweek as he helped his side overcome a huge challenge against Ajax to secure an unlikely place in the Champions League final.

And Redknapp has been eager to point out the virtues of the £140,000-a-week forward [Spotrac].

Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “I love Dele as well, he’s an amazing talent, and Son looks an amazing boy.

“He runs, he works, he just enjoys playing and every week you know what you’re going to get from him.

“They’ve got different types of players to the ones I had but fantastic players.”

OPINION

Redknapp is hardly reinventing the wheel by singing Son’s praises, but it speaks volumes as to how good the South Korean has been this season that the plaudits just keep on coming. You can imagine that the forward would be an absolute dream for a manager, and it’s easy to see why Redknapp is so in awe of him. His quality is one thing, but his work rate and enthusiasm for the game is another entirely, and it’s that infectious style of play that has really helped him to stand apart this season. In the absence of Harry Kane, it has predominantly been Son who has stepped up to the plate for Spurs, and while he may be unavailable for his side’s clash with Everton on Sunday, you can bet that he will be raring to go in the biggest clash of them all when Mauricio Pochettino’s men travel to Madrid on June 1st. He could still have a huge part to play this term.
