Sky Sports and BBC pundit Danny Mills has said that he expects Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon to complete a “perfect move” to Tottenham this summer.

The Daily Mail reported that a £25million deal to bring the player to north London is close. Fulham rate him at around £40million but the Mail claims that they expect “middle ground” agreement on the fee within days.

Talking to Football Insider, Mills was in no doubt about where he thought the talented 18-year-old would end up.

“He will go to Spurs and he will learn from Mauricio Pochettino,Mills said.

Sessegnon will probably play half the games next season and be a squad player. Would he get in ahead of Son Heung-Min or Lucas Moura? Certainly not at the moment.

“But Tottenham would be a good stage for him and it’ll be the perfect move. He hasn’t been a regular starter for Fulham, so can’t expect to be starting at Tottenham on a regular basis.”

OPINION

Levy likes to make his deals late in the window but it looks like he might be learning from the mistake that saw him miss out on Jack Grealish in the last window. He reportedly passed up on the opportunity to buy Grealish at the price Villa wanted to sell him for, with the club in financial problems after losing in the play-off final. New owners then blocked the deal and Tottenham went the window without signing anyone. Levy didn’t sign anyone in January either but the sounds are way more promising for Tottenham fans this summer. The move for Sessegnon has widely been reported as being close and with the summer transfer window officially opening today, it might not be long before this one gets done. Mills certainly thinks he will be a Tottenham player next season and it makes a lot of sense. He’s the sort of player that Pochettino would love to develop but he will likely be a squad player for now. He’s still only 18 years old.
