With another Premier League season over, Tottenham firmly set their sights on Saturday’s Champions League final in an attempt to make history.

Spurs will meet Liverpool in their first ever Champions League final with the desire to claim their first piece of silverware in the competition.

It has been nothing short of miraculous the run that Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been on to get there. A massive win over Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals was followed by a huge comeback win over Dutch giants Ajax.

Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris has spoke of his desperation to create history at the club and this must be the attitude all of team-mates must also adopt. Speaking to Sky Sports, the French international said: “I think to be involved is a big privilege. It’s a big opportunity for us and we are desperate to put a stamp on Champions League history and make it together.”

Lloris, 32,  is right to speak of his desperation and should the club turn up on the same wavelength they will be hard to stop. With the possibility that top-scorer Harry Kane could return, that desperation could easily turn into reality.

Saturday’s meeting between the two Premier League clubs will be a moment of history for Spurs but they must keep their cool if they are to come away with the win. Liverpool will be more desperate than ever after cruelly missing out on the League title despite only losing once.

What favours Tottenham and Pochettino is the fact that this is a one off tie, their is no second chances and who ever performs on the night will take home the glory. This means the two defeats suffered at the hands of Jurgen Klopp should have no bearing on this one and Spurs have every chance of success.
