Liverpool ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sent Aston Villa midfielder Henri Lansbury a message on Instagram to congratulate him on the Villans winning promotion.

Lansbury had previously taken to his personal Instagram account after the 2-1 win against Derby on Monday, which earned his side a place in the Premier League next season, in order to thank fans and share a video of them cheering their team.

“You guys, we love you,” wrote the 28-year-old central midfielder.

Lansbury’s post prompted Oxlade-Chamberlain to send a supportive two-word message in order to congratulate the Villan on his part in the triumph.

“Congrats Broski,” wrote the Liverpool midfielder via his verified Instagram account.

OPINION

Everyone is coming out of the woodwork to congratulate Villa and its players, and Oxlade-Chamberlain is no exception. The Liverpool 25-year-old played with Lansbury for England’s U-21s back in the day and clearly still keeps in contact with the Villans midfielder. Interestingly both have been dealt bad luck with injuries in their 2018/19 campaign, but both could end up lifting trophies by the time the season completely ends. Lansbury only managed three appearances in the Championship, and played no part in the play-offs, but got to celebrate the Villans’ success on Monday while Oxlade-Chamberlain could end up lifting the Champions League trophy shortly. While the 25-year-old may not feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side against Spurs, he’ll likely make the bench, he will still get to join in the celebrations if the Reds win the prestigious cup. Oxlade-Chamberlain has only managed two appearances for the senior side so far in his 2018/19 campaign, but may be able to reach three appearances by the time the season ends.
