At this point, it goes without saying that Salomon Rondon has been a revelation for Newcastle United.
Ever since he turned up on Tyneside last summer from West Brom, the Venezuelan has added a much-needed new dimension to the Magpies’ forward line.
As well as his 12 goals, a personal best for his time in England, the 29-year-old has also chipped in with seven assists, and has helped to bring the best out of Toon Army mainstay Ayoze Perez, who himself has hit 13 goals this season.
Understandably, Rondon is a man in demand, and as well as Newcastle, a report in the Daily Mail suggests that Wolves could be willing to make a move for the striker this summer.
That will certainly irk the Geordie masses, who have firmly taken Rondon into their hearts this season.
Losing the South American would be bad enough, but losing him to a Premier League rival would be a real kick in the teeth.
Supporters will be delighted, therefore, to hear that Rondon has seemingly put pay to some of the rumours linking him with the Midlands club.
Posting on his personal Instagram, Rondon uploaded a photo of him training with the caption: “Let them talk!”
As far as reassurances go, that should go a long way to settling nerves at St. James’ Park, but until some kind of confirmation is made, there will be a fair amount of rumour and supposition on Tyneside.
At the very least, Rondon’s post should go some way to keeping the wolves from the door for now.
