Tottenham attacker Lucas Moura wowed against Ajax to help his side reach the Champions League final yet the 26-year-old is still underrated according to Paul Merson.

The Sky Sports pundit shared that he thought the 26-year-old winger was a good player but if he was being honest then he’d class the Brazilian as underrated.

“I mean they brought Moura in and he’s a good player and I think he is underrated if I’m being honest,” said Merson on Soccer Saturday (Sky Sports, Sunday May 12th, 12:44).

Merson’s claim about Moura should have many Tottenham fans salivating about how good he is as he does get a lot of praise come his way all things considered.

The Brazilian has scored 15 goals in 47 outings this season and even racked up two assists in order to prove his talents to most.

Yet if Merson still thinks Moura is underrated, then perhaps that means he believes the Tottenham player is capable of more than others think.

This would be a scary prospect as Moura has already looked to be the real deal while featuring for Mauricio Pochettino’s side; but given that Merson wouldn’t praise a Tottenham player needlessly, given his former Arsenal connection, it should have Spurs fans salivating about how good the 26-year-old really is.

While Moura can sometimes deliver performances below the standard expected of him, more often that not he always looks a handful when playing.

Spurs will be looking to go one step further next season and lift some silverware, particularly if they miss out on the Champions League trophy, and with Moura in their ranks, trophies are a realistic possibility.

So with that in mind Spurs fans should be starting to drool over realising how good Moura is especially when the heavily-praised hero is being dubbed underrated by Merson.
