Musician Noel Gallagher shared that when he entered the Manchester City dressing room after their win against Brighton the players started singing ‘Wonderwall’.

The 51-year-old shared that Man City’s players were in their underpants and flip-flops singing the Oasis song at him after they had retained the Premier League title.

“I’ve just been in the player’s dressing room there and they’re all singing ‘Wonderwall’ to me y’know and they’re all in their underpants and their flip-flops singing ‘Wonderwall’,” said Gallagher on BBC Radio 5 Live (18:43, Sunday May 12th).

Man City won the Premier League title on Sunday in order to become the first club since Manchester United in 2009 to retain the title.

OPINION

Gallagher certainly paints a picture by saying all the Man City players were singing ‘Wonderwall’ in their underpants and flips-flop but it’s not a surprising sight. Of course Man City players were going to go all out with their celebrations on Sunday as at one point, granted a very brief moment, the title looked like it was heading to Anfield. Yet Manchester City got the job done and now will have to refocus on their upcoming FA Cup final with Watford. If Man City do end up racking up the FA Cup trophy as well this season, then it’s obvious what trophy they’re going to go all out for next season. Tottenham eliminated Man City from the Champions League this season and clearly Pep Guardiola will want that prestigious trophy in Man City’s cabinet sooner rather than later. While Man City do have a talented squad to call upon, you feel there maybe a couple of additions in the summer to ensure the Champions League trophy follows.
