Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jonas Lossl is set to undergo a medical at Everton ahead of a free transfer to Goodison Park, according to Football Insider.

The reputbale news outlet claim that the 6’4″ (source: Transfermarkt) colossus is happy to accept the contract offer that has been tabled his way and that he will undergo the required medical tests to seal a deal.

The Danish international was a regular between the sticks for Huddersfield, playing 31 times across all competitions this season and has a total of 69 Premier League appearances under his belt, with Everton said to have been seeking a backup option for Jordan Pickford for a number of weeks.

Good move for Everton?

The Toffees definitely need someone to help support and offer competition to Pickford, who perhaps got a little bit complacent this season with Maarten Stekelenburg his backup this year.

It would do no harm having another experienced player to come in and fill the gap and in Lossl they would be getting someone who, despite being relegated, has the ability to take over from Pickford if injury or suspension hit.

Is he the sort of capture that is going to get fans off their seats? Not in the slightest. Is he an important capture for the club? On a free transfer, they could have done a lot worse.

Likely to happen?

If a medical is taking place then you know things are pretty serious and he seems on course to be the Toffees’ first signing of the summer.

Only a breakdown in negotiations are likely to see this move fail to go through but it seems both parties are keen for it to happen.
