Jermaine Jenas sent Manchester City defender Kyle Walker a supportive message on Instagram after the full-back helped his side defeat Watford 6-0 in the FA Cup final.

Walker took to his personal Instagram account after the win against the Hornets to celebrate another fantastic season at Man City and share his happiness at lifting the FA Cup.

“History made!! What a feeling!! The perfect ending to a fantastic season. Thank you for all your support #Fourmidables,” wrote the Man City player.

This post by Walker prompted Jenas to send the defender a three-word message to tell him that he was in great form.

“On fire lad,” wrote the pundit on his verified Instagram account.

OPINION

Manchester City were in majestic form against Watford on Saturday as they just looked a class above. The Hornets had opportunities early in the game to ruin Man City’s day but once Pep Guardiola’s side got up to full-speed, they were too much handle. However it’s interesting that Jenas has singled out Walker, as he didn’t have the best game for the club. If you had to be extremely harsh and pick a Man City player who could have been better, you probably would have pointed your finger at the 28-year-old defender. Walker at times looked sloppy in possession and you feel if Watford had challenged him more during the game than the defender would have made a mistake. The 28-year-old regularly featured for Guardiola’s team in his 2018/19 campaign, he made 52 appearances, but given some of his disappointing displays; that might not be the case next season. It’s not hard to imagine Man City signing a new right-back to replace him after all.
