Fenerbahce want Oumar Niasse

|

Fenerbahce are reportedly in talks to sign Everton striker Oumar Niasse, according to TRT Spor.

The news outlet says that Damien Comolli, the Turkish club’s sporting director, has been negotiating with the Toffees for over a month in his attempts to thrash out a deal for the 29-year-old.

Niasse was signed by Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2016, and spent last season on loan at Cardiff City, where he failed to score in 20 appearances.

OPINION

This is a move which is likely to happen. Everton got on just fine without Niasse last season, just as they did the season before when he was loaned out to Hull City. The only time the striker has spent as an Everton player was in the first season and a half since joining, but after that, he has been non-existent at Goodison Park. It is clear that Marco Silva does not need the Senegal attacker around, and it has been that way for some time now. It would be best for Everton to finally offload him for good, as it seems clubs have been reluctant in the past couple of seasons to take Niasse on a permanent deal. The Blues must add to their transfer kitty by selling players this summer, and Niasse is one of those who you would think Everton must sell if they are to have a good window.
