COMMENTARY
Some Chelsea fans had an interest in the Championship play-off final between Aston Villa and Derby County on Monday as there was weirdly connections to the London club all over the pitch, and even on the sidelines. However one reason Blues supporters had to tune into the game, came in the form of Mason Mount. Chelsea loaned the 20-year-old attacking midfielder to Derby at the start of the season and by all accounts it was a smart decision. Mount has been able to get regular playing time with Frank Lampard’s side, he featured 43 times ahead of the play-off final against the Villans, and has come on leaps and bounds as a result. However on Monday when it mattered, the midfielder struggled to shine bright. In fact one Chelsea fan claimed it was a “disasterclass” of a performance by Mount, while another shared that the player would clearly get battered if he played his football in Premier League. Based on this section of fans ripping Mount apart, he should be worried about his future at Stamford Bridge.
