COMMENTARY
As a striker it is your job to stick the ball in the back of the net but it was by no means easy for Alexandre Lacazette in Arsenal’s Europa League semi final clash versus Valencia. Thankfully for the Gunners faithful, the French forward was on top form and showed immense strength and technical ability to hold off the defenders and curve the ball past the diving goalkeeper and into the goal. It was not just his ability to get on the score sheet which was impressive though. He was working tremendously hard to keep the Spanish side under pressure in their own half and his stamina meant that they did not have a moment’s rest as he was left breathing down their neck. Alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Arsenal have one of the most mobile and threatening front two that the English Premier League, and maybe European football, has to offer right now. They work perfectly in tandem and maybe Unai Emery will start thinking about playing them alongside one another more often.
