It was said that Leeds had two lists of transfer targets for this summer. One if they got promoted to the Premier League and one for the Championship.

Unfortunately for Leeds it’s the latter and with the summer transfer window open today, Orta has already started work on landing Leeds’ first summer signing.

According to Football Insider, Orta and his team have tabled a long-term contract offer for 20-year-old Barcelona striker Rafa Mujica.

There’s no doubt that money will be tight at Elland Road this season and Orta will have to pull out deals for free agents or loans.

Mujica is an interesting one and a player probably destined for the Under-23s at first.

He’s a young striker who can also play on the wings and has scored seven goals in 33 games for Barcelona B this season.

Orta has been hit and miss in the transfer market and the signings he made with little money in the 17/18 season were pretty awful. Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot anyone?

However, since Marcelo Bielsa has arrived they appear to be working in tandem and almost landed Swnasea winger Dan James in January.

That fell through and he’s probably out of their price range now, but Mujica is a similar type of player and we think he could be one for the first-team next season.
