Leeds are confident of landing a £7million transfer windfall “imminently” according to Football Insider.

The report claims that they are set to land £7million through the sales of Samu Saiz and Caleb Ekuban, after Marcelo Bielsa gave the “green-light” for their exits.

FI say that Ekuban is on the brink of a permanent move to Trabzonspor, while Saiz is set for a permanent deal in Spain.

It is said that Leeds are confident of getting their £6million valuation met by a Spanish club “within weeks”, although that won’t be Getafe where the player has been on loan.

OPINION

How Leeds could have done with this cash in the January window. They missed out on top target Daniel James after Swansea decided they didn’t like the terms of the deal. By all accounts, £7million up front would have got the job done and we think that with James on the wing, Leeds would have gone on to finish in the top-two. That’s all speculation of course, but he has been a standout player in the second-half of the season for the Swans and his value is likely to have soared way past the £7million mark. Leeds may well make a move for him over the summer if they get promoted but irrespective of what happens in the play-offs, Bielsa will need to bring in new faces. The £7million will kick off a war chest and if Leeds can get £6million for Saiz after his disappointing loan spell at Getafe then it will prove to be very good business indeed.
