OPINION
Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are drooling over a report claiming that the club is in the hunt to re-sign Fabian Delph from Manchester City, but those supporters need to realise that there is no way that this is happening. The Sun has claimed that the Premier League champions want £15million for the 29-year-old England international and Leeds, as well as clubs from the top-flight, are said to be interested in snapping him up. Leeds may be interested, but the chances of them actually signing their former youngster are zero to none. It may make a great story, but that’s about it. Delph is a Premier League player. He does not stand out at the Etihad but he is good enough for every team outside of the top-six in England’s top-tier. There is no way that he would drop down to the Championship and there is no way that Leeds would be able to afford his £15million valuation and his £80,000-a-week wages.
