Marcelo Bielsa put out a strong side to play Ipswich in the last game of the season at Portman Road. Leeds fans would have been hoping that promotion was assured already, but instead they need to go through the play-offs, with a point today ensuring third place and a play-off semi-final against either Derby, Bristol City or Middlesbrough.

We expected goals, with Ipswich relegated and nothing to lose, and Leeds keen to keep up the momentum after a rousing 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last time out.

We got… next to nothing from Leeds in the first-half. It was a really poor 45 minutes for them, with Mateusz Kilch and Adam Forshaw chancing their arm but never getting close.

The two moments of drama weren’t good for Leeds fans – first goalkeeper Kiko Casilla came miles out his box and took out Colin Quaner, earning himself a yellow card.

Shortly after, Ipswich – relegated and bottom the Championship – took the lead through Flynn Downes.

Casilla has form here and Leeds fans couldn’t believe he’d taken such a big risk in a meaningless game, with a red meaning he’d be out of the play-offs. That’s the last thing Leeds need at the moment.

One fan called him a “liability” while another said he appalling decision-making.

Thankfully, Klich popped up right at the end of the half to equalise for Leeds with a fabulous finish. That’s the point they need but Leeds fans will be looking for much more in the second-half.
