Leeds United could triple their money on Tyler Roberts if they opt to cash in on the Wales international in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that Leeds signed Roberts for £2.5million in January 2018, but they could now “treble their investment” on the 20-year-old this summer if they want to.

That means that the Whites could offload the ex-West Brom attacker for £10million in the transfer window and make themselves a handsome £7.5million profit.

OPINION

Even if Leeds could make a solid profit on cashing in on Roberts this summer, they definitely shouldn’t. Roberts is only 20-years-old and only started to play his best football for Leeds towards the end of this season. That means that the Welsh forward is improving and he is bound to start next season a much better player than what finished this one. Hopefully the Gloucester-born ace can get over the worst of his injury woes though because his time at Elland Road has been littered with niggling issues ever since he was signed from West Brom last January. Roberts managed 31 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and supplying six assists in the process. He was not really a key player for Marcelo Bielsa in the first-half of the campaign and when he did start to play regularly from February onwards, injury ended his momentum early.
