Norwich City goalkeeper, Tim Krul, has encouraged teammates Ben Godfrey and Max Aarons to ignore interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, as quoted in Goal.

Godfrey and Aarons both played crucial roles in helping to achieve promotion for the Canaries, and their performances have not gone under the radar.

Premier League giants Man United and Spurs have both expressed their interest in the pair, but Krul insists that staying with Norwich is the best thing for the duo’s development.

“We all know when the big money is going to be offered, heads are going to get turned,” Krul said.

“But if Manchester United come in at 19 or 20 years old, there is no point sitting on the bench. They have to play. I will tell them. The money will come to these lads.

“When you look at how well they have done this year, some of them were in the U23s last year and no-one knew about them,” Krul went on to say.

“Now they are massively sought after talent and rightly so. Every credit being thrown at them, they deserve.

If both Aarons and Godfrey were to depart, it would be a huge blow to Daniel Farke’s side. They both provide the side with pace, athleticism and drive, something which is very difficult to replace in the modern transfer market. The influential impact that the duo had on the defence was enormous, losing either would be highly damaging. Norwich must avoid losing the pair at all costs if they are to have a successful campaign back in the top flight. Aarons and Godfrey are pivotal and only a silly offer could tempt Daniel Farke to part ways with either of them. Tottenham and Man United will be looking to significantly strengthen their squads in the summer and will be in the market for new talent. With that being said, both clubs need new regular starters, and as Tim Krul said, it’s no good sitting on the bench. It would surely take a huge sum to land the pair.
