Eden Hazard is on the brink of agreeing personal terms with Real Madrid, according to The Independent.

The Belgium international has been the subject of interest from a host of European giants in recent months and it’s Real Madrid who have now met with Hazard’s representatives.

Hazard has 12 months left on his current Chelsea deal but is keen on a move to the Spanish capital.

Chelsea have attempted to tie down their star man by offering him a new deal, however, the 28-year-old has not agreed to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will demand £100 million in order for them to allow Hazard to join Madrid. Sarri’s side have seemingly accepted the fact that his contract is coming to an end and that the player is eager to hook up with Zinedine Zidane.

Good move for Chelsea?

Losing Hazard would be a big blow for Chelsea. The Belgian has been the club’s best player for several years and is, without doubt, the club’s crown jewel. With Chelsea’s transfer ban being upheld, the club are unable to bring players over the age of 16 to the club, Hazard is simply irreplaceable. Chelsea must offer Hazard an enormous wage packet for him to stay and if they want success in the Premier League then they simply have to do this.

Likely to happen?

Madrid have been long-time admirers of Hazard and it’s unsurprising to see them now making serious advancements. Hazard has been with the club seven years and may now feel like his time with the club is up. Real Madrid are arguably the biggest club in football and it would be difficult to turn down an opportunity to move to Madrid. After Cristiano Ronaldo left the club, there is a chance for a player to become Madrid’s new talisman and Hazard may feel as if he is the man to step up to the mark.
