West Ham should blow Newcastle United out of the water in the reported pursuit of Club Brugge forward Wesley Moraes.

The Chronicle has reported that both of the Premier League clubs are eyeing up the 22-year-old Brazilian, as well as Serie A side Lazio.

However it does appear more likely that Wesley will head to England in the summer transfer window after admitting where he would prefer to play should he leave Brugge.

“I do not know yet, I have a preference for the Premier League, but we’ll see what happens, I have to give it a go,” he said, as quoted by the Chronicle.

Wesley has been in red-hot form for Brugge this season, scoring 17 goals and supplying 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions for the Belgian giants.

The former Trencin striker even managed to bag goals in each of his side’s two matches against Monaco in the Champions League group stages back in October and November.

He is an absolute menace to deal with in the air. Standing at 6ft 3, the colossal forward won an average of 2.5 [WhoScored] aerial duels in his six Champions League group stage matches, which included showdowns against Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, as well as Monaco.

West Ham could do with some extra aerial threat added to their squad in the summer with their headed shots at goal ranking just ninth in the league, and it appears as though they are already looking for a striker in that ilk with Salomon Rondon and Aleksandar Mitrovic reported to be targets.

Wesley has now joined that list and the Hammers should definitely flex their muscles in the transfer market and beat Newcastle to the Brazilian striker.
