Everton and Wolves are in the hunt to sign Real Betis midfielder Victor Camarasa, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that West Ham and Brighton are also keen on the 24-year-old, who impressed in the Premier League this season while on loan at Cardiff City despite their relegation.

It is understood that Camarasa has now returned to parent club Real Betis and he might be on the move again in the summer transfer window with a loan or permanent exit from the La Liga club.

Good move for Everton?

Camarasa was a shining light for Cardiff in what was a dour season for the Welsh club.

The Spanish central midfielder made 33 appearances in all competitions for them, scoring five goals and supplying four assists.

Everton should definitely have a good think about adding Camarasa to their squad in the summer because Marco Silva could do with the extra strength in depth in his midfield, especially if the Toffees are unable to sign Andre Gomes from Barcelona.

El Desmarque reported earlier this month that there is a £22million release clause in the midfielder’s deal with Real Betis, and that might be a fair price for a player that is proven in the Premier League.

Likely to happen?

It appears as though clubs are already queuing up to sign the former Levante midfielder, and that may be an issue for Everton because the clubs interested in him are at a similar level to theirs.

West Ham and Wolves definitely have the financial clout to pull off a move and joining a London club, or a Europa League club, could be seen as more attractive than joining Everton.
