Everton boss Marco Silva is willing to allow winger Ademola Lookman to leave the club, according to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old was impressive in a loan spell with RB Leipzig during the second half of the 2017/18 season, where he scored five goals and assisted four others in 11 Bundesliga appearances.

But the England Under-21 international has failed to produce the same kind of form this term, making three league starts in 21 Premier League run-outs.

According to Football Insider, Silva will allow Lookman to leave Goodison Park and the club are keen to make £10million in profit as well as recoup the £11million they paid for him in January 2017.

Good move for Everton?

Definitely. While Lookman looked the real deal while playing in the Bundesliga for Leipzig, he has come back to Merseyside and failed to live up to the expectation he made for himself in Germany. Everton have an abundance of players who can play in and around that position – Richarlison, Bernard and Theo Walcott – with the former two settling in excellently in their debut seasons at Goodison Park. On that basis, these players will only get better next season and there is no need for Lookman to stay around.

Likely to happen?

Probably. The Football Insider report claims that Silva is having to make up most of his transfer budget this summer by financing sales, which means there will be some players leaving the club this summer. Along with Cenk Tosun and possibly Walcott, Lookman is another who is likely to leave. And if Everton can get £21million for him, which – as FI say could happen – that would be an excellent deal which would put Everton in good stead to sign another player and one who can make a bigger impact.
