Everton have set their sights on Lyon attacker Bertrand Traore, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that the Toffees are among a number of clubs in pursuit of the 23-year-old Burkina Faso international, who has previously played for Ajax and Premier League giants Chelsea.

It is understood that Lyon want £40million for Traore after an impressive season in France.

Good move for Everton?

Traore has played well for Lyon this season by scoring 11 goals and supplying four assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.

He helped Lyon reach the last 16 of the Champions League after an unbeaten run in the group stages and scored in the French Cup semi-final defeat to Rennes last month.

One of the main reasons why Everton are looking at Traore might be because he can play as a centre-forward and on the right wing.

However there is no way that the Blues should be splashing £40million on Traore and it may be worth looking at other targets before going in big on the ex-Chelsea attacker.

Likely to happen?

It must depend on whether or not Marco Silva is tracking other targets that play in a similar position to Traore because there are bound to be other players out there that are cheaper.

Everton have spent a lot of money in the last few years and after a solid end to this season, they might want to take it a bit easier this summer.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Traore but other clubs are said to be interested in him too.
