Chelsea and Arsenal completed the English clean sweep in Europe this week, with the home fans at Stamford Bridge watching their side stumble over the line on penalties.

Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek combined for the first goal in the 29th minute that meant Frankfurt had to find one of their own, but they couldn’t break down a fairly resolute Chelsea backline in the first 45.

However, it didn’t take them long after the break to get back on level terms. A 49th minute goal from Luka Jovic threatened to rip up the script and Chelsea fans were on the lookout for someone to blame. They ended up with Willian.

That’s been the story of the season really and for a player who promises so much and has so much obvious talent, Willian disappoints more than he excites.

One fan said it would hopefully be his last game at the bridge while another said he was “astoundingly rubbish”.

He was hooked off after 62 minutes and replaced with Pedro.

The win leaves Chelsea just 90 minutes away from lifting the Europa League trophy but to do it they’ll have to get past Arsenal, who beat Valencia to keep their hopes of Champions League football alive next season. Chelsea already have that in the bag.

Here are the best reactions from Chelsea fans to Willian’s display:
