Leeds United are keen on signing Paris St-Germain attacker Jese Rodriguez, according to Estadio Deportivo.

The Spanish outlet claim that with Marcelo Bielsa remaining interested in trying to win promotion to the Premier League with the Whites, Jese is a player that is of interest.

Estadio Deportivo report that Bielsa previously tried to bring the 26-year-old winger to Elland Road in January but Jese preferred to join Real Betis on loan.

Good move for Leeds?

No.

Jese may have won the Champions League twice in his career when at Real Madrid, but he would be a huge gamble for Leeds to take.

The 26-year-old may have done okay in his 2018/19 campaign on loan at Real Betis, he scored two goals in 14 games, but that isn’t enough to take a chance on him.

Jese previously played in England for Stoke City and his spell was not a success to say the least.

The former CL-winning attacker struggled to have any real impact in the 13 appearances he managed and it just seemed like he wasn’t suited to English football.

The only reason why it might be different for Jese if Leeds sign him, is because Bielsa has a tendency to turn flops into heroes.

Likely to happen?

There’s only a very slim chance surely?

Jese is set to return to PSG after his loan spell at Real Betis and will likely be chucked out the door once again by the French giants as he is not good enough for their first-team, but it’s hard to imagine him rocking up at Elland Road.

The 26-year-old previously ignored the chance to join Leeds in January and it’s hard to see why it would be different this time around.
