How different things might have been for Leeds United had they managed to keep Kemar Roofe fit and firing all season. The striker was the hottest proposition in the Championship towards the start of the season, but saw his campaign hampered by injuries, and has struggled to rekindle that early season form, failing to find the back of the net since January. That has ultimately been a deciding factor for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who have dropped points on more than one occasion because of lacklustre finishing and an increasingly wasteful streak. It will come as a real assurance, therefore, to see that Roofe seems to be back up and running again. United shared a video of him scoring an absolute beauty in training to their official Twitter, and it was more than enough to get fans excited. Many will say that it’s a case of too little, too late, but there will be others who take a more optimistic view of things and see it as a sign that their most dangerous player is coming back to form in time for the play-offs. Obviously, doing it in training is one thing and doing it in front of a packed out Wembley crowd is another, but things are certainly looking promising.
