OPINION
With the amount of money in the professional game at the moment, it is little surprise that transfer fees are continuing to rise and rise. It feels as if football is stuck in this ever expanding bubble, and it is surely only a matter of time before it bursts. Until then, however, clubs will keep on being held to ransom for players in the transfer market. Perhaps most worrying is the fact that these inflated fees are beginning to trickle down through the league system. It just isn’t a case of the big boys charging extortionate fees between themselves, but sides in more precarious financial situations are also being forced to go out on a limb to secure the level of talent needed to make any kind of meaningless progress. Take the latest report on Jack Harrison. According to the Sun, Manchester City will demand £20 million to make his loan move to Leeds United permanent this summer. Frankly, that is ridiculous. No offence to Harrison, but there is no way in the world that he is worth that much whatsoever. The thing is though, City know that even if Leeds don’t pay it, somebody else will be daft enough to. It’s madness.

I didn’t even really hate jack Harrison but no way he’s worth that much.

Rate Jack Harrison not a bad player at all, but for the price City want for him we could get 2 decent players.. I wouldn’t pay anything more than 5 mil for him let alone 15?? #lufc
