Leeds United are facing a flurry of interest in teenage ace Jack Clarke, according to Football Insider.

Premier League trio Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Bournemouth have all reportedly entered the race for the 18-year-old, and are expected to firm up their interest with bids this summer.

United, for their part, are expecting offers to be tabled, with Tottenham having already been linked with a £10 million move for the youngster, as also reported by Football Insider.

OPINION

This is not exactly shocking news for Leeds United. Clarke burst onto the scene this season with a series of eye-catching displays, and from the off he looked like he could be the sort of young talent who has a very bright, Premier League future ahead of him. The fact that Leeds didn’t get promoted has only served to reaffirm any top flight interest in the teenager, and it would be no great surprise if he did leave this summer. That would be a shame, but in the long term, it could prove to be best for both player and club. Clarke still has a lot to learn, obviously, but if he can pick the right move, provided he does leave, then he could be plying his trade with some of the very best in the English game in the very near future. As far as learning curves go, it doesn’t get much better than that. As for Leeds, losing a homegrown prospect like Clarke will always sting, but if they can get somewhere between £15-20 million for him, that could really help them invest big for another crack at promotion next season.
