Phil Hay has just delivered the update that every Leeds fan will have wanted to hear.
Writing on his personal Twitter account on Friday morning, the Yorkshire Evening Post journalist said that he has heard from people in Argentina that Bielsa is “minded” to stay at Elland Road for another season.
“My understanding from people in Argentina is that Bielsa is minded to stay put give it another go at Leeds next season. But as ever, you’d be loath to second guess him.”

OPINION
After the disappointment of the play-offs this would be a major boost for Leeds. Hay’s sources are immaculate and he’s normally on the money with these things. Of course, it’s far from saying that he’s definitely staying, but after the Mail report that said he was ready to walk, it’s news that Leeds fans will lap up. We think he’s developed a real connection at Leeds this season and it’s certainly been an emotional and incident-packed season. It would be hard not to be dragged into the narrative of Leeds this season after everything that’s happened and for a manager who loves football more than anything else, Bielsa will be aware of the difference he can make at Leeds and the emotional connection the fans have with him. We’d imagine that is really important to him and that he’d be hard pressed to find a similar project anywhere else. Bielsa is already a legend at Leeds. If he stays and takes them up next season the statue will be on order.
