OPINION
Spurs’ comeback against Ajax on Wednesday night was one of the best the Champions League has ever seen. Many said that Liverpool’s win over Barcelona could not be topped the night before but there was something about the Tottenham comeback that may have seen them eclipse that. A second half hat-trick from Brazilian forward Lucas Moura saw his side go through to their first ever Champions League final on away goals. The game looked destined to cause heartbreak for Spurs, who were 3-0 down at half-time on aggregate, needing a miracle to progress. It looked even more unlikely when they still need one goal in five minutes of stoppage time, only for Dele Alli to produce a stunning touch on the edge of the box which allowed Lucas to fire home into the bottom corner. Alli celebrated the comeback, posting on to his personal Twitter account his thanks to the supporters. Spurs fans replied with great joy with even begging: “Stay with us forever”.
