Former Tottenham defender, Graham Roberts, has heaped praise on Lucas Moura and Moussa Sissoko after the pair helped Spurs reach the Champions League final last night.

Lucas Moura scored an unbelievable hat-trick as Spurs came from 3-0 down on aggregate to book their place against Liverpool in Madrid. Spurs were without the absent Harry Kane but the Brazilian remarkably tore Ajax apart as he sent them crashing out of the competition.

Moura’s 96th minute winner completed the turnaround after Spurs were 2-0 down going into the second half.

Moussa Sissoko’s drive and work-rate encouraged Spurs and the Frenchman played a starring role in the comeback.

Roberts was quick to highlight the pair’s performances after the game, “I don’t want to pick anyone out last night but you were simply incredible absolutely incredible and my man again just wow.”

OPINION

Lucas Moura really had to deliver last night. There was enormous pressure on his shoulders with Harry Kane not being available and after the 1-0 defeat to Ajax during the first-leg, many would have doubted Spurs’ chances. Sissoko has been impressive for Spurs this campaign and he deserves a special mention after his energetic and enthusiastic display last night. His transformation at Tottenham has been absolutely remarkable since last season, when it looked like he was on his way out. Spurs, at one stage, looked down and out in Amsterdam but the Frenchman’s work-rate was never in question and his side were rewarded in the end.  Both Moura and Sissoko now have an unbelievable chance to win the Champions League trophy. If the two are able to replicate their performances last night, Liverpool will have a seriously tough job on their hands. Harry Kane may be available for selection come the final at the beginning of next month, however, it’s hard to overlook Moura given just how good his display was during last night’s game.
