OPINION
Celtic right back Mikael Lustig certainly didn’t have one of the better performances of his career in his team’s 2-1 Scottish FA Cup final win over Heart of Midlothian on Saturday. The Swedish international has struggled throughout this season and it appears that all of his 32 years have caught up with him. Saturday’s performance was merely a continuation of what we’ve seen all the way through this campaign from the veteran defender. He looked hesitant, lethargic and unable to adequately contribute from an offensive or defensive standpoint. He’s not a bad player, of course, but his best days are very much behind him at this point, let’s just say that. Jake Mulraney appeared to have the better of the big Swede for Craig Levein’s side, particularly in the first half, and Lustig just couldn’t get to grips with him. It certainly appears as if the player’s time at Celtic is coming to an end and, based on Saturday’s evidence, that’s probably for the best.

Lustig is so wasteful in possession. Unreal. He hasn’t found Forrest once.

Poor half. Nowhere near troubling them. Lustig horrendous. Forrest doesn't look fit.

Rogic leaving us a man short again, and Lustig looks scared of the ball.
